BRUSSELS - GALERIES ST HUBERT - BRUSSELS RESTAURANTS

Brussel Galeries St HubertYou can’t miss the Galeries St. Hubert – located one block from the Grand Place, the glass vaulted archway roof is sure to draw your attention. You’ll find several of Belgians gourmet chocolate shops, delicious French Bistros/restaurants, fashion, books, and electronic shops.

We suggest you stop by the Nauhaus Chocolate shop – known to have the best Belgian Chocolate (and all of Belgian Chocolate is famous!) it displays praline filled tastes of chocolate – hazelnut, etc – smooth chocolate of the highest quality. The prices generally run about €19 Euros for a small hand-picked box and on up, the bigger box you request. Absolutely delicious – friends will appreciate this gift – just make sure if you buy chocolates in the summer you head straight back to your hotel to put them in the fridge.

There’s also a fabulous delicious French Restaurant (named Café?) – for the life of me I cannot remember the name – but you will recognize it – once you enter the Galeries St. Hubert archway and enter the part with a solid ceiling (no longer glass) make the 1st or second turn left (which runs into the street again) and it will be located last on the left side - look inside and you’ll see a wonderful display of French wines, a huge slab of butter (for the delicious French crusty bread served with meals here) and bustling waiters in and white outfits with aprons. Make a reservation for later if you like.

Another restaurant I recommend which do remember the name of is Vert de Gris – absolutely delicious gourmet quality food – fantastic! The waiters and waitresses are few so don’t expect always prompt service, but the food is so delicious from the mouth-watering appetizers to the main course, it is worth waiting for. I suggest a Chate du Pape wine if you are ordering the Wild Mushroom Pasta dish. It is located a little walk from the Grand Place at Rue des Alexiens 63 – 1000 Bruxelles. (www.resto.be/vertdegris).
